With the best of the best mod cons, high spec caravans, and enough activities and entertainment to allow you to stay on a park for the whole week!
There are around 6243 holiday parks and campsites across the UK with a combined total of 438,076 pitches, with a whopping total of around 2 billion a year spend on caravan holidays!
Parkdean Resort is the proud owner of Trecco Bay, along with its 73 other parks and 8000 staff! Located in the seaside town of Porthcawl South Wales, Trecco Bay is the biggest caravan park is not only in the UK but in Europe too! Serving 50,000 people between the 13th of July and 23rd September, when the park re-opened after the pandemic. Would you like to know more about the UK’s biggest park?
Well, where do I start! It’s not only the number of caravans that make this the biggest park, even though it does have over 2000, but it’s also everything else that comes with it. Trecco Bay offers a wide range of different caravans to fit a wide range of requirements and budgets from low to high, with 2,3 and 4 bed statics, wheelchair accessible caravans, pet-friendly caravans and lodges, and top of the range features in the lodges like en-suite bathrooms, private verandas and in some cases hot tubs.
They also offer other fun outside of the caravan without you having to leave the site! From alfresco dining, cafes, takeaways like Papa Johns, high rope courses, Crazy golf, outdoor wet play area, entertainment, and kids’ clubs for when the adults what to have a drink and relax.
Although you cannot live on a Parkdean holiday park you can go away for a week or 2, for a 7-day mini-break in August 2022, 2 adults, 2 kids, and your family dog you would be looking to be set back by anywhere above £1,000. Would you say that’s a bargain? The recent Covid-19 outbreak has allowed the caravan industry to boom with more people wanting ‘staycations’ within the coronavirus rules, with caravan parks using this to their advantage. It is not only possible to rent a static for a short time, but you can also purchase one from the site, Parkdean currently has more than 20’000 owner that has chosen to buy a holiday home from them.
On Trecco Bay prices range from £32,995 or £529 a month on a 2010 ABI Vista and can go all the way up to £104,995 on a beautiful 2022 ABI Westwood!
Secondly, we have the Haven owned Devon Cliffs in the sandy seaside town of Sandy Bay, Exmouth, Devon. Haven is a huge company owning around 37 parks with around 10,500 employees all over, however, Devon Cliffs outshines them all being rated one of the best parks in the UK and being Havens biggest! Unlike Trecco Bay Haven has a different way that they categorise their caravans in 4 grades.
- The Platinum with decking caravan
- The prestige caravans
- The deluxe caravans
- The standard caravans
Plus, exclusive sea views and luxury lodges for the extra cash! Although you cannot live on these super-parks all year round you can make the spontaneous visit when you feel fit for the 10 months most the Haven parks are open for. For the basic 4-day staycation, without any of the mod cons like central heating or passes, in August 2022 for 2 adults and 2 children, you would be looking at being set back by upwards of £500
There are many other things to do on the park to save you from having to come off-site including water sports and pools, active and adventure activities, creative activities, nature rocks, daytime entertainment, evening entertainment, food and drink, shops, and other services. There are also many local things to do off-site like the world of Country Life, Hawkridge Bird of Prey Centre, Sea Kayak Exmouth, Exmouth Land Train.
